I am glad to say that it is summer, because I am ashamed of my school on the whole. There aren't very many good people and the classes suck. I am sick of having to go home researching various topics, because I haven't learned them at school. Why people in regular schools learn subjects that are technical and such, my school basically teaches us like we are babies with subjects like homophones. I would rather learn about art or computers or at least learn something about history and more science. There are no advanced classes, and I fear that I will end up going to college without any knowledge. The teachers don't care about our college lives. They'd rather teach us like we are stupid, because other teenage folks such as druggies and petty people have gone to school for drug addiction or violence. I've never committed a violent crime, nor have I taken drugs. Sure, I've blown up out of anger, but at least I have self-respect and good ethics.
It is an embarrassment being in a school like this. While students in regular schools have learned about art, history, or have had programming classes, I've had none of that. (we've had a little history) Sure, I know a lot about web design and a certain language for a fractal program called Apophysis, but it's only because I had to teach myself. It's sad that I've just learned about mitosis and cell division last year. We've learned about Powerpoint (in what would be a basic class), and I designed my own website! Instead of taking into consideration that I was bored, they made me sit through the lesson. Hum-dum-dum: step one.
On the more positive side of things, I must say that I've learned more about grammatical structure. When I was in sixth grade, my grammar was horrible, but all in all, I didn't pay much attention. I was too worried about what people thought about me. I still managed to get all A's. |

If you feel like you are not on the level you should be education wise then just learn stuff online yourself. Look up what colleges expect you to know and if you are not covering or have not covered those things then google and wiki away, my dear. The school is at fault for you guys not knowing what others in your grade know but the only person who can change how much you have stored in your artsy brain is you. Youre smart. even if you do go to college knowing less than the average student, you will catch up fast enough. I believe in you, GP believes in you. Study on girly.
I went to german school so there is ALOT of stuff that I have never done (american history, biology, science, american politics, alot of the math) and I will have to study all of the above mentioned to get my associates in arts so I am right there with you but so far I havent had any problems. Youll do fine cyber sis.

glad to hear that you're going outside of school and studying the things you really want to learn...that's motivation. it's good to see intelligent young people working toward personal goals, rather than sitting back and taking what's handed to them. i'm sure that you'll do fine once in college if you stay on the course you've plotted. =)
