DescriptionPoetic Escape has been the ONLY poetry open mic in BOSTON for the last 3 years. Not to be compared to the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge, though world famous, and great, you get a different vibe at the Blue Wave. At Poetic Escape you truly will exprience some of the best in local spoken word artists and both traditional and freeform poets. You'll get diversity and more flavorful poets relfecting today's Boston. Slams will begin in November 2009 to move from the solely open mic format.

PE has been lucky enough to feature Def Poets in the past such as Black Ice and Oveus Maximus. Blue Wave has also had visits from Talib Kweli.
