waves of clouds stretching long fingers
from undetermined point
crashing into the sandy blue beach
of the sky
shallow tsunamis slowly inching into
view at 1000 MPH
every gull, grackle, jay, finch, hawk
surfing leisurely
the sun struggling uselessly to
stay afloat
a murder victim overwhelmed
and drowned by the moon.
