Today tyger is leaving because of feeling
bullied

In the name of free speech it seems that
Poets can bully or mock fellow
poets without consequences

It's happening alot

Whenever one makes a complaint it's
the same old explanation that free speech
reigns and the victim is not considered

Two poets openly mocked my work
GP rules seem to mean nothing
My complaint seems unheard

Is GP a safe place to write without
cyber bullies being in charge

I'd like my complaint about the poet Asif
and Kylebank invesrigated

Use the Block List. It is there for a reason. If that feature doesn't work for people, then I am sorry but perhaps a site like this isn't the best fit for them.

John, Ilan's complaint is not about a PM or a comment he received on a poem, it's about the fact that another poet wrote something separately mocking a poem he had posted. So that's something that can't be resolved by blocking. I raised it in the Curators Forum recently and there was some discussion there.

I think some people have an overly broad definition of "bullying".

all in all it is sad that there is even an issue with bullying. we are adults right?

I think the issue is that if we get into

I can't see how that is respectful of a
fellow poet

GP needs to be a safe place to write
It's already a great place to write
but amateur poets need to feel safe
that doesn't mean we can't be criticized
but mocking is not on

what a wonderful poem, AsIf! It really speaks volumes about the current state of this world - and to think that someone would rate it a one? There are other poems on this site very similar in style, and they all get rated an eight, or a nine, or even a ten... Maybe you should try adding different languages or alphabets, like Cyrillic.

Honest feedback: the final two lines are my favourite.

Cyber bullying is a real form
Of bullying

It's not about broad definitions or being
oversensitive

In fact there are laws pertaining to
cyber bullying

There are cases where victims have
suicided and litigation occurs

The right thing to do is to enforce
GP rules

So far I am seeing that when one
complains, it's not taken seriously
as per some comments above

But worst case scenario
If a poet suicided and GP was found to
Have not acted responsibly to curtail a bully
then litigation could occur

Its merely a matter of taking
complaints seriously and issuing
a warning to a poet who is bullying
Or mocking another

I googled cyber bullying USA and
see there is legislation

if a person feels bullied it should not
be dismissed as the person being
Over sensitive

Bullying is a huge issue in workplaces
Schools and now the net

Poets need a safe place to write

All you are doing is giving a small minded person the attention he is craving. Block him and then ignore him.

I'm with you on that Ilan. I also recently was a victim of cyber bullying here on GP and it resulted in a couple great poem for me called Shattered and one called Don't Tell Him You Love Him (for another victim of this same persons abuse and bullying). I did block the abuser to stop his hate mail and used his words to create some really good poems. I did not let him defeat me or chase me from the site. The funny part is he wrote a poem about being bullied and in his missives accused me of bullying him. It was a very strange and surreal experience. But as I said I used the experience to make myself stronger - not backing down - and to use it creatively. I know it is not fun! Having been there it can be scary getting these hate missives sent to you. So hang in there! I do enjoy your poetry and think you are among the top poets here on GP. I just hope you can use your experience and turn it around on the abuser as I did. The best revenge is living well. Here on GP the best revenge is using the abusers words to write a great poem . hugs and keep on writing!
