i too am married to an indian lady - Angels
- and live in durban south africa that has the highest indian population, outside of india.
great comforting food is a 'bunny-chow. half a loaf of fresh warm bread, its inner scooped out and filled with currry of choice. eaten only by hand. cheap and nourishing, filled me many a morning after a surf.
in the indian ocean. lol

Fond memories of Ilan, his little daughter and grand poetic trips taken in his pages. Shalom.

I like Indian cuisine, when I can find it. Mexican food is everywhere here, since we share a border with them.

Yes it is massive in Australia. I love it. Especially the last 10-12 years.

Real Mexican food would be a spin out, I'm sure I've never had it.

You don't have to miss Ilan, Mary Ann. He is here disguised as Gary who lives in London and sometimes pretends he doesn't know anyone here.
As far as Indian food, yes, we have many Indian restaurants here where I live. My housekeeper, from Poland, and my daughter love it when I am too lazy to cook and order it. I never know what it is exactly that I am ordering, but it does fill the house with exotic smells that make me want to travel. It looks like lunch will be Indian today, but we'll walk to the restaurant today since it is so beautiful.

It's so popular here that we have a besan-ladoo-thieving postman in the area! My Indian wife sent a packet of besan ladoos (that's a very tasty Indian sweet) to her father recently, and it never arrived. I'm offering a reward for information leading to the capture and life imprisonment of this thieving scoundrel!
PS - the reward will be a packet of besan ladoos...

Now I simply *must* try some besan ladoos. Nom-nom.

Hmmm... maybe I can make some money out of this site - establish a besan ladoo shop with a special discount for GP members - only $100 per packet plus postage to anywhere in the world (except India, that is ).
