Desert life
Dry, dusty, incapable of life
Barefeet being bitten by rocks
Like the nagging worries
And problems of life that bite at me
Despair in acknowledgement
Of the desirable end.
A cliff standing tall
With hope for the end of life
Standing on the edge
Looking down
A long way down
Too far to ever come back from.
A speck of green below
So many possibilities
Valley? Forest? Field? Life?
Desert brown is so familiar
The green of life makes my eyes ache
Is it better down there?
Can I make it there
When I can hardly survive here?
I could truly LIVE.
But I could also perish
With one last glance back at you
I step over the edge
And set myself free
