The universe expanded more last night –
I know, because again there is less air
to hold us up this early morning flight
across the vast expanse of “I don’t care”,

because my lungs again demand O2,
because my brain again amends the landscape
of everything we tried to say or do
and hides it well so deep inside the trance cave.

We’re holding hands, as cold November wind
blurs up the lens, chaffs lips and hides the weenie.
Oh well, another loss, another win -
who cares. This too shall pass, we both have seen it

so many times. Our other hands are free
to wave “so long”. I’m sure we both agree.

Lovely job, Boris! So many themes handled at once! Do you think such a grand poem deserves a word such as 'weenie'? Or was it hot dogs about which you were speaking?
