Hey... with all of this ratings talk, I decided to go check into mine.
I found a discrepancy between what is reported when I click on "My Ranking" which accurately shows how many poems I've posted to the finished section... and the main Rankings area, where it shows a different average, and shows my total number of poems posted as fewer than are actually in place.

Not that I am so concerned about the rank... but wonder whether the different results are indicative of some overall problem.

Do you have any poems set to not be rated?

Do you have any poems that are not yet rated?

Either of these things would cause a discrepancy between those 2 screen.

Did you post poems lately? I think some stats are calculated periodically and others in real time so there is often a lag between when you add a poem and it getting reflected in the rankings.

hmm. I do have some which are not yet rated... though I thought the thing averaged those ones in as zero. I would think that the total number of poems would display correctly... but apparently not. I've been PM'd that is just the way it works.
The end result is that the numerical average of my poems is greater on the public screen than on my personal view... but if that how it works... *shrug*

Just wanted to make sure that was not an indication of another problem. Appears to be a known issue.

The newest ones are ranked... some older ones aren't... but a delay in reportage could likely account for the difference, I suppose. I hadn't considered that the two results were tabulated separately.
