5 YEAR OLD GRUDGE

My girlfriend lives one state over
We get together now and then
She calls me up and says she’ll try
To see me when she’s passing bye

She has other commitments
Children and grandkids too
And it sometimes stirs’ resentments
As conflicting interest do

She puts first priority on her
5 year old grand daughter
So I often get bumped
By a sweet faced runt

I suffer yard ape envy
Because I get little and she gets plenty
To think this little crumb snatcher
Could give her anything I couldn’t match her

Perhaps I should be more gracious
A little less tenacious
But I just can’t help
Resenting that whelp

Alright I’m a little warped
To hold a grudge against this dwarf
But I’m sure it’s a plot of brain child concoction
That gets the attention that I should have gotten

That sweet little face
So precious and pure
Keeping her intentions
And motives obscure

Some devious curtain climber ploy
For grandmas love and better toys

And even though it sounds retarded
For a full grown man to be so broke hearted
When his only defense is “she started it”

But it won’t make me budge
From a 5 year old grudge
