Poem

within the age

Within the age.

To the inexperienced eyes
Of the young men around me
She was an old woman
Wrinkled and grey
They clearly could not sense the wise
Of her life educated bounty
And no value for her hard earned maturity
Had they!

Her Voice perhaps more course then soft
Would send her piercing thoughts aloft
And ricochet their less then cerebral heads
More gracious then graceful when she walked
More content then volume when she talked.
I strained to hear every word that she said.

They saw no firmness in her breast
I saw no artificial preservatives
She dressed with less flash and more class
And spoke with more substance and less fear
Her folded skin on her hands and face
Would never take touch for granted
Her smiles though fewer in number
Were far more sincere

Soft and clean
Was her grey blonde hair
With a penetrating
Green eyed stare
I swear this woman
Had a heart of pure gold
No guile it seemed
Would pass her lips
So moist and warm
They begged for kiss
And all these foolish boys could see
Was old !!!
