Poem

Insanity

Copyright ©2005 Stephanie R Schubert

I sat on the edge of insanity, just willing the world to look and see.
Every act a consequence, the eye of madness without any sense.
Look around and you may find, there are others without sound mind.
My life is the same as so many, but it differs still by plenty.
There is so much the world doesn’t know, how many more will journey where I go?
Even after all this strife, I am in charge of my own life.
I'll take much a long the way, maybe this time I listen to what others say.
The cliché's they use are silly when said, but late, late at night they run repeatedly through my head.
Insanity has a view you know, so I ask you again will you venture the way I do go?
You really can be good and bad, you really can be both happy and sad.
You can live when you're all torn to pieces, and still the world goes on, it never ceases.

Look into the eyes of your soul, it's bigger then a single black hole.
You could get lost if you dare, living or dying by only a hair.

There are many who have walked away, daring to be public, not afraid to say.
To say the answers to the questioning faces, they tell of darkness and distant places.
A tale of the harshest life, the emotions so raw they cut like a knife.
As the long day draws to an end, another life sways in the current of wind.
Drowning in the ocean of life, it might be your husband, it might be your wife.
Someone you know surely has fallen, but they can will themselves back or maybe they don’t know your callin'.
It's hard to say everyone is unique and rare, everyone knows that life is not fair.
If you could would really you change, it's only your life you have to rearrange. Insanity that is me, keep looking I'm sure you'll see!
