Routine by ellelebelle
Alarm bell rings
wishing instead it would sing
hit the snooze
trying not to loose
those last few moments of sleep
damn! begin to weep
dream was just getting good
remembering old times not being in the hood
little brotheres calling out your name
keeping the daily routine the same.
Get to school
first instinct try and act cool
see that one cute boy
secretely want him to be your toy
walk by his way
shamefully have nothing to say
sitting in class
hoping it will go by fast
teacher announces a test
crap! heart pounds against your chest.
Lunch bell sounds
get in line for another day of sloppy rounds
look at your plate
begin to contemplate
decide to push it away
thinking good thing you didn't have to pay
rotate your eyes
look about counter clockwise
intake all that can be observed in the cafeteria
trying to make sense of the foolishness of the adolenscent teens causing histeria.
Get home
seclude yourself in your four wall dome
relive the day that just past
being greatful it didn't last
throw yourself carelessly on the bed
laugh to yourself thinking about the last thing that was said
brothers burst in they want to play
never listen when you say go away
food is on the table ready to eat
lunch ladies need to take tips from your mother on how not to cook concrete.
Night has finally decided to set in
can't wait for your sleep to begin
not anticipating the moment
of complete and utter torment
when your brothers wake you up
to their routy get ups
but until that dreadful time
rears it's ugly and unwanted chime
allow pleasant dreams to take over
as you take refuge under the warm cover. |
