Sonnet #4 by butterflyzrfree
Soon hopefully my son will find a girl
Who loves him tender and gives him that bliss
She must meet my approval-a rare pearl
both sexy and conservative. A kiss
from her must show experience, but not much, never drink liquor or ever get high.
I wouldn't allow that girl for him to touch
if such decisions would to me lie.
Yet many a boy ignores his mother's plea
in modern times we live but did not choose.
A young man now believes this choice is free
to make and also "What have I to lose?"
At least it is to son that I must bade
goodbye. With the bride's family all the plans are made. |
