Tender Sparks in the Wind

by Loki

To be loved again and cherished as a friend,
to know the love will never end;
would give this old hearts young eyes a
new trail to tend, a tender spark to start the mend.
I know your there somewhere oh loving light I’ve
felt your bright might fight back the night
and lift the veil of shadowed sight.
To know the absence of your presence is a
wilderness darker than the dead of night.
The veil of shadowed sight slipped silently over
the light has cast a dark glow over my life
sprinkling a glitter of emptiness to sparkle on the
surface of the salted see I swim to remind me
to blind me in the glow of nothingness.
These tired eyes seek a young sunrise
one not seasoned to the bitter bone by
the passage of time roamed alone as I
drift amidst sea foam with no place to call
a home I roam and wait for loves lost light
to clear this blight of shadowed sight as I
plead oh gentle breeze please clear the air of
deaths despair and fierce fumes of forgotten
feelings, the funneled fragments of a sunken
world left far behind beneath the depths.
To be loved with no end, oh to be cherished once
again, just to share it once again with a fair
and special friend, that unimaginable feeling
as tangible as the wild animal in my heart,
would be to walk this wilderness two creatures
of happiness breathing in life’s features anew.
I wait for the hint of a glint of that tender spark
the trigger for a young sunrise to renew my eyes
and lost vigor.
Oh loving light and gentle breeze I plead
please clear my sight I’m on my knees,
gentle light and subtle breeze clear my life of this unease
guide me with the wind to a love that will never end.
