modern day love letter

(just wrote a whole poem on here and i screwed up and LOST IT! I'm done crying (or am I), and this is probably nothing like the original (not at all, actually), but hey, c'est la vie. Will be copying before I submit from here on out)

persistance
flirts with
the brick wall
pores leak
(false) hope
shadow
dances
sooty heart
aflame
99 minus one
slapped handshake
tears fill
familiar grooves
praying to your knees
hands clasping "The One"
gyrate to the choir
bitter wings fly nowhere
foaming eyes
glinting mouth
no flowers at this funeral
no eulogy
no soft song of love's lies
true to form
truer to nature
just like the
brick walls before

eternal throbbing heart
sweet murmurs lie
and call themselves cackles
the warm embraces of yesterday
claw out today's eyes
trust the ultimate insult
in the ironic twist
ex out of all the windows
leave it all in your midst
tangled stars
