Dear Departed

by Legendary

Dear Departed

I am a poet in mourning for my dear love poetry has left me. She did not even say goodbye, but perhaps she did not get a chance. I was so foolish to think she was mine, to childish to see her unhappiness, to selfish to understand her stanza. Before we parted ways she showed me the way to a woman’s heart, not forgetting to reflect upon the happenings of the world. She is gone now! Leaving nothing in her path that lead Dorothy to OZ. The time to stand and be counted has come with my heart held in my hand and my mind belittled by the injustice of her parting. Dear departed I write this letter to you standing at the gate to heaven, for I have seen a better world without you, a world of no words, no expression, and no voice. I have missed you so much, so much too little to late. I have relished our meeting with my pen erected in my hand, I have conjured my inner voice to summon you to the drawing board, to replenish what we had so that those who do not know us know and those that choose to reject us feel the addiction to inject us in their hearts. I hope you see that I am falling apart without your sticky phrases and punch lines. I hope my dear departed never surrenders cause in death you will return as life in the beginning of the end.
