I see Better in my Sleep

by butterflyzrfree

I forgot everything I forget everything
what time of day is it? and what day.
where was I going to go!

I forget the names of the poems I wrote
when others ask me about them.
I forget my poetry.

How can I help my daughter?
She must learn independence, but where, how?
I have forgotten.

in my dream the snakes were entwined
colorful like toucans, they were fucking
I grasped them by the neck and they bit
and I was bleeding--

banana spiders too big for their webs
silk webs spun by those worms
which hang in cocoons, woven silk
in bananatrees.
Spiders unhungry in the glitter.

I was sent to the hospital.
they would not admit; they did admit
due to the blood and visions of snakes fucking
they admitted, I remember.

I remember my dreams
and my visions, the other worlds
visions of all that which is more colorful.

I have gone through life colorblind.

The riverdancers wear plaid skirts
black tap shoes and smart ponytails
hands on hips
heads side to side as they dance.

could not tie off the wounds
Two pairs bite marks punctures close
together but
there was no blood only clear
semen dripping...
and the pain comes slow.

The doctor looked in my eyes when
he moved the flashlight--I saw him but
the camera pulled back and people were standing
around the bed. A detective asked questions.
Slowly I go mad.

As shown in the movie, the snakes lived in the tree
and the Mexican told me the detectives knew that I
was the murderer.

But I lost the poems I lost the titles from my brain
and I have no more.
I lost the poems.
