oh sure
there's broken glass, green and white
smashed beer cans
cigarette butts, used condoms
rose-color postcards with
coffee stains, an old dried-out
french fry or two, boarding passes
with luggage claim tags, panties
sticky coins and candy wrappers
more cigarette butts
but mostly shit
old, dry, some of it crumbled
but even of it still holds shape
it's all shit
somewhere deep inside
i can feel rumbling
and more of it will come out
soon enough
and it doesn't matter where i am
or what language i happen to use
to bullshit my way around
a turd's a turd
steamy and stinking
it will attract attention
but for a minute
and immortality is a
big pile of shit anyway

many sincere thanks, mate! i've been away for a looong time, wrote a ton of poems in russian, now i'm back in the states and my brain is still jet-lagged, but i feel like writing in english again ))

thank you, Ilan! i do translate russian poetry into english, but usually when it's really good (both a poem and its translation) do i post it. you can find some that I translated in a translator's forum )))

This is a great poem with a tremendous impact on the reader. The language is igniting and you definitely make your point.

We're all full of shit, Boris, the only distinction is that some of us can realize it while some of us never do. I realized I was full of it a long long time ago and I'm reminded from time to time as well (in case I was to forget it by accident or omission).
This is a great piece that evokes raw emotion -- the best kind. Much enjoyed. Hey, it's great to see you around here again, it's been too long!
