We Place Ourselves Around The Fire

my eyes are mesmerized
by the change of seasons
with reasons too many to name,
the fame of autumn's fire like sight
the might of colors outraging
upstaging any other weather,
together with the fragrance
of the wild flowers in the field,
the yield abundant, tall and proud,
the trees shout aloud, the crimson, orange,
gold, behold the spectrum in between,
I mean the beauty takes my breath away,
each day more beautiful than the last,
it goes too fast,
suddenly,
the trees are bare,
the smell of snow is in the air
and all the color is on the ground.
the trees are brown lace on blue silk,
we place ourselves around the fire
and remember the awe of September.

I was just thinking of the explosion of colors up north when autumn comes in full dress and how dull and dreary it is here in the south compared to the display the trees up north put on for everyone.
