Cross it out, scratch it, erase it from my mind
Banish it from memory, put it behind
Pretend it never was – could you be so kind?
Act as if the planets otherwise aligned

Not merely forgotten, but just vanished whole
Place barriers between us – the only goal
But the slightest mention – lunatic and drôle
Let the accursèd be what the gremlins stole

Far, farther away is still not far enough
Build a wall impregnable and mighty tough
Don’t invite it back or even call its bluff
Just walk away in a hurry and a huff

i love the flow and the rhyme of this one. and yes, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could just cross out certain events as if they had never occurred. enjoyed this one!
