The Dark Side

Shoes dangling
from high wires
draw the eye..
squealing tyres
nearby..
just ahead kids
pour out of park
some still be there
come dark..
in their hoodies
drinking, fighting
…on fences writing
In the park-after dark
Broken glass,
smoking grass
Up the road, out of sight
voices raised, family fight
Money lost
on the slots
Sound of slap, crying
Dishes flying..
Normal day in the ‘hood
It’s all good…
Nothing new &
right on cue
Prowling through
…the boys in blue

wow a quite graphic poem here - but I can feel it true - the inner city life in America - how grand - so many innocent lives come and go in the dark side - that is why the rich keep the crime exactly where they want it - pinpointed in certain areas - well done - ^v^
