edith piaf

when
her aching voice
wordlessly
aimlessly
fell trees in a betrayed backyard

i shot arrows
everyday,
to declare war
to fall in love
with her foreign crooning;
and bury myself
in agony
of her dissolving silence.

i was just looking stuff up on the internet about
the subject of this work, edith piaf.

she was very complicated individual

i wish i knew more French beyond my scant High school classes to appreciate her work more.

i just got through listening to "La Vie En Rose"
