Venoms Kiss

I’m staring down a bottle of problem-solver,
awaiting the firestorm in its depths to grow
as I grow more tame to this game with every flame,
that calls my name.
I’m staring down a bottle of regret-forget.

Firestorms and seared nerve endings numb
swell with every sip of potent rum until its job
Is done.

I’m staring down a bottle of who-am-I,
searching the soul lost in its smoky depths
trying to truly see who I see in me through a veil of
drunken misery.
I’m staring down a bottle of past-alive.

Clouds of ash an embers smiled as my lips and
nameless faces of flame stir the storm in
my name.

I’m staring down a bottle of bliss-by-the-sip.
solving my problems,
forgetting my regrets,
searching who-I-am,
feeling the past alive
in a bottles bottom, to the venoms kiss
