Dawn

I held the crimson dawn
in my arms.

Shadows walked on stilts
through the emerald woods.

A flower laughed as cold
stones called out my name.

I chased the silver tresses
of a stream in hopes I could
strip her white-foam veils.
I dove into the cool darkness
where her gowns unfolded into
a crescent pool of comfort.

I awoke under the heat
of a noon-day sun.
