Poems - I Cried

I Cried

As I began to think of you
it started to rain.
First with gentle drops
and then again a few more
It started raining

It rained last night
In the middle of the night
It rained

As my thoughts of you grew
I pushed back the hurt from the pain of losing you
starved for affection of you.
Not able to ever be with you

I could not ignore the rain
I have never known it to rain so hard
It rained

I sat alone looking out my window
and as my love for you swelled in my throat
I looked up hugging myself for want of you
I cried from need of you

I cried all night for you.
Like rain my tears fell.
It rained all night.

as the rain falls and night comes upon me
like the earth soaks up the rain
my pillow soaks up my tears
when morning light greets me
a knock of company I hear
rain no longer taps on the window
tears no longer fill my eyes
for another love has dried them
my pillow now shares kisses of love
