green sludge
oozes out
of
deep
piles

red flame
and gray smoke
smolder
and choke
the dark night

something shrill
scatters
and slices
through
the silence

putrid methane
throws
a soiled mattress
on top of
the fresh air

filters through
our porch screens
and window cracks
and stays
for days

CEO
with smile and cigar
being driven
away
in a big car

Nicely set out to explain a not so nice situation. A huge problem occurred in Cranbourne Aus, when council allowed an estate to be built above a rubbish tip.
