Music Man Please Play For Me

Oh music man please play for me
songs to take me back
to that place of long ago
when my spirit was young and free.

Play the songs to which I would dance
barefoot in the streets
with my long hair flying free
when I wasn’t afraid to take a chance.

Let the music make my heart soar
lost in long ago memories
when the music wailed sweet and clear
and touched me to my very core.

Sing the words that make me long
for the young lovers I had back then
the ones who I let break my heart
and the ones to whom I did wrong.

Won’t you please play for me
the songs of love and truth?
So for the moment I can return
to the illusions of my youth.

it's never too late to go dancing in the streets bonita. tried to send you a message earlier today, but it disapeared, without trace...grrrrrr. remember vinyl albums so thick you could barely lift them when you were a kid? and they made a " thunk " noise when you put them on the turntable....oopps. showing my age here ha ha - paul and the tuntable hound.

Great poem, I enjoyed it!
Feel like I'm on a beach alone, begging the sea to recreate the only beach romance I ever had!
I like the image of the 'music man' that I conjure up...strong, grizzly and handsome!
