SUMMER

by WordLover

She’s quite the enchantress, our season of lush, languid
splendor. Radiant sunshine illuminating an endless
stretch of white, sandy beach. A hint of breeze
stirs and lazily wafts over crowds of sun-worshipers.
Skin, exposed and pale, aching to shed its winter blues,
shines and glistens with coconut- scented oils.
Sizzling season, so sublime, sweet, sultry summertime.

My salute to summertime!
Pleiades poem - 1 word title, 7 lines, each line must begin with the first letter of the poem title).

Dear Sandy...
Your poem is full of envy for me in the south. It's our shortest day in two days time, it's freezing cold, and believe it or not we had an earthquake yesterday. (we rocked and rolled but all is fine)
Do enjoy your summer Sandy

dear Lindsay, I'm so very glad that all is okay. I do love summer, but also here in VA we have extreme humidity to contend with as well. May and most of June is usually beautiful, and then the heat really comes in and it's quite stifling. I suppose we are lucky though, we actually do get the benefit of 4 seasons. Thanks, as always, for taking time to comment, I appreciate it so much and wish you the best.

Oh, thank you my friend! I really do love this little form. I think it might be a b it of wishful thinking on my part with this piece, since we had a heat index yesterday of 100 (already). Gonna be a long, hot summer. Thx again.

excellent sandy.
the pleiades is also a star cluster of seven stars ( though there are actually many more ) known as " the seven sisters ". though i'm sure you must have already known this, from your sun and summer references...very clever - paul and star hound.

thanks Paul!! So glad you tied that in and glad you liked this little piece. I do love summer, and that's probably a good thing since it looks like it's gonna be a scorcher this year. Thx again.

thanks chris, I love this form too! Here in Virginia, we have bounded right into an extremely hot summer - way earlier than usual. Yesterday it was in the 3 digits and hit 97 today - the heat index is ridiculous. Way too hot to even be out in it unless you absolutely have to! Wish I could bottle up some of this and send it your way! Thanks my friend!!
