Statue of My Self

by angel38

Statue of My Self

I am the rock, the granite
I want to chisel and carve
Into a vision of my perfection,
The Truth that fills my infinite
The food of knowledge for what I starve
My true consciousness’ connection

I am the statue I want to sculpture
Firm expression of honesty and sincerity
A look resembling wisdom’s serenity
One solid piece of beauty with no rupture

I’ll carve the destiny I want to script
Animated being by breaths of lives
A living creature within Mother Nature
The true image of my own spirit
In Oneness amid compund strives

I’ll carve the Love I want to give,
Smoothness, silky skin of my statue;
The tender touch of caring hands
A soul to give more than to receive

I have the tools in my desire,
Beyond the distance, spirit to reality, apart;
I’ll carve my mind, my thoughts, my ways
The level of awareness I truly admire
I have the rock, the tools, so I may start
Carving my True Self in the rest of my days

And when I finish, and the statute is done
You will know myself not what you now see
And when I am gone
I will leave you with the true image of me.

how wonderful, how touching, how sad.
its a pity that sometimes relationships require proof of what the underlying emotions are, that tow people involved in a relationship cannot relate to each other as they should, for whatever reason(s)
its sad that sometimes that such passion as housed in the person in your poem, is not visible and almost borders on unrequited.

    Ann9,

    Sad indeed, this simple truth:
    Deceiving roughness, not smooth,
    Relationship based on a condition
    Is shallow feelings, beyond cognition.
In any way, without passion, is not true at all.
It is just a sand castle bound to fall,
An empty life having no bliss
As love expressed with a fake kiss

Great image of the statue. Makes me think of a sculpter who chips away at a rock until he comes to the image he saw in it before he began. Best to you from Rabbitt
