Summer Memories

The long awaited days are here.
Breathe in the light; bathe in green warmth;
fill yourself and be sustained.

Too soon the daylight hours dwindle.
Sun sears green until the brilliant foliage
trumpets the onset of dark hours.

I carry within me the bright of summer
translating it into the flames of fall
that warm me in the winter even so.

And memories of summer years
sustain my wintry mind, clothing in light
those warming images of sunny times.

while I cherish the memories of summers of my youth - those wonderful endless summers that were so magical - right now these 100 degree plus temps are not making me all that fond of summer Smile
