Writing On Love

Writing On Love

What is so difficult about love songs
Just look in her eyes and you can’t go wrong
Peering deep into precious peepers
Then speak of how you plan to keep her

Writing love poems isn’t very hard
If there is an inkling of romance in the bard
Just reach out and touch her soft face
Thoughts will come and words will fall into place

There is nothing especially difficult
About living a feeling then writing what you felt
When blood warms and emotions reel
Pick up a pen and list how you feel

If you think she’s beautiful or at least real pretty
Tell her so in a rhyming ditty
Isolate what she has you relish
And if it sounds bland... embellish!

(this should be ample example)
When her hair flows like rivers in waves of glowing locks
When her kiss feels like bliss and embraces never stop
When her voice sings inside your head even while you sleep
And you have never had another who could reach you quite this deep

Just open up and say the words
Then write down what you said
It is not that great a distance
From your heart to your head

this is totally me, whenever i feel it and i sit down and write i literally go blank and start to bite my nails unable to find the simple words i feel, but i will read this to remind myself that it is not hard. thank you so much for being such a wonderful writer and sharing this!

Love has been tackled so many times. Sometimes it is best to just keep it simple. That is why I like this poem. It is honest, not pretentious or grandiose.
