Sorry to see that some idiot rated this low. It's a very clever iteration of words that reinforce the rather tense and confused feeling of waiting that a patient has. It got me interested in the etymology of the word "patient" in its 2 meanings - apparently both meanings derive from an ancient Greek word meaning "suffering".

oh yes! I have done that way too many times. when you have to bring books, paper and pens and other items to entertain yourself while you wait you know the wait is too long and I must admit sometimes I do not wait 'patiently'. you captured the frustration of wasted time waiting.

i was at the quacks the other day tasha. looped videos of how great the natiinal health service is and a ticket with 92 on it, when they are seeing patient 78....not like i've got anything else to do but have some old guy cough on the back of my neck for 20 minutes or anything - paul the patient.
