This poem seems kneejerk and exploitative. Also..imagine if one of the moviegoers had been armed..perhaps some lives could have been saved.

Gary I know AsIf was to the the point with his thoughts on this poem. Rondo and I got in to the same subject on his title; The 2nd Amendment is Obsolete. Go buy read and add your two cents. I have to agree with AsIf, some of the men in the theater were military men and trained to handle such situations all they could do being unarmed was throw their body over their love ones and pay the price. I think it is a shame that these loonies are are armed in the first place; this man (loony)was under psychiatric care, judged unstable and gun control law are not setup to stop these loony s from purchasing a fire arm. I put it on the backs of Government and the Psychiatric community. They should require that Psychiatric doctors report not only to some University board alone but also to outside law enforcement when someone is judged unstable.

Those are very good points you
make James and I agree with
all you say, a gun is no good
for an unstable person. It's a pleasure
to read an insightful comment
and one that adds to debate.
To me a poem is a feeling
and it terrifies me to
think I could go to a movie
and get shot. I'm not advocating
banning guns but I am worried.
