Mother, Thou art my Beacon

Mother, thou art an invaluable gift
Given to me by the Father above;
Thou trainedst me in the path
Of dignity, virtue and veracity.


Two things be very costly,
Albeit Pearls be expensive,
And yea, so also is Gold,
Yet mothers be priceless.


Thus the wise one saith:
Treasures repose in strange places.
But mother, thou defiest all norms,
For deep down in thee be treasures.


Whensoever thou cuddleth me
Peace floweth down my spine,
And when thou layest me to sleep
Prayest I, that that never be the last.


The words thy mouth uttereth
Be filled with understanding,
And the strokes of thy hands
Be garnished with genuine love.


Mother, I thank thee for thy care
Through all the pains and in gain;
Thy strokes comforteth my soul
And thy words giveth wisdom.


Thou art excellent in knowledge
And in my life thou art a beacon.

May each day thou expendeth
Illuminate thy life much more.


May God Almighty be pleased
For the life thou livest heretofore,
And may thy well of wisdom
Never runneth dry, hereafter.
