Poems - The 2nd Amendment is Obsolete

The NRA has become like an extremist group that fights everything that makes commonsense to you and me and a lot of other citizens. It is also a magnet for racist groups. There is no reason in this day and time that a full background check and waiting period for a gun does not make commonsense. I went and got my concealed weapons permit awhile back; I arm myself for defense of my body, my family and my property. I do have a problem with how concealed weapon permits are given out in the south. One thing you have to answer a list of questions and the person giving the test sits there giving the answers to each and every question SLED ask for permission to carry a weapon. I asked the question on what percentage of whites, black and other races are paying for carrying permits. Overwhelming white, then older black citizens (in a small number) very few Asians. We have both wrote poems on the south will rise again; if an overwhelmingly racist community is arming themselves; how does an unarmed citizen protect themselves? I asked the gun shop owner about carrying an unconcealed weapon in a place of business. He told me that it was perfectly legal and the he pointed to the black community and said if someone comes from the jungle over there you have to show them you are armed. Racist are not only buying guns they are selling guns and owning gun shops. Does a gun really offer you protection? A very good friend of mine owner of a gun shop, had countless guns with in arms reach when he was shot and killed in a rubbery and the person has never been caught. The 2nd Amendment is Obsolete; I think that statement is totally wrong. We can look at the civil war in Syria and see what happens when the people have to go up against a well armed government. Tell me Rondo who will come to our aid if that ever happens in America? There are those in this country wishing the south will rise again; and the nasty part of the American underbelly is arming itself and I don't feel the need to be unarmed in the face of revolution; a drastic and far-reaching change in government. So Rondo; I have to agree with you and disagree with you. Your friend BWP... James...

The Batman Comics are based on the very same subject of very intelligent Batman Villains that have been driven crazy. It is a shame that this person has become the most villainous of Batman crazies. There has to be a reason he chose the Batman movie in the first. Maybe our thirst for crazies and violence brought this crazy out of the shadows to give movie goers a real taste of what violence and crazy is all about; to rub our noses in it. Maybe speculation is all we have right now since the intelligent crazy one remains silent. Stay tune bat crusaders as this bat story unfolds. I read a news story that suggested we not give this villain the satisfaction of even seeing his name in print. Now within a little while his belonging will go up for auction on the internet to further expand his ego. If you think I am disconnected with reality thinking small arms are a match for the technological advancement of our military you are wrong. I am sure that your pen or my pen will not stop one tank; as I am sure not one stone has stopped one tank. Now for my innate fear of authority; ask my Representative Bill Bowers and the Honorable Alan Wilson, Attorney General of the State of South Carolina if I have fear of authority when it comes to putting up a fight for my rights. I have a fear of authority in the wrong hands and that is just what we seen in the state of Colorado; when unarmed citizens came up against a crazy. Not one movie ticket would have been sold to a batman movie goer if Batman went up against a crazy Batman villain unarmed. BWP... James... Your friend...

we have to strengthen it where it is weak not start whole vigilante / individual systems like old west style "Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves but Sam Colt made men equal" ...we need to progress as a society ....they dont let you keep Grizzley bears without proper restrictions and conditions because they are dangerous to the general public...keep a 3 round 12 gauge like any sane person you dont need all that other nonsense....thanks again

We do agree on some things here; I don't believe that our government has the right to change the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution in order to achieve gun control and I don't believe gun collectors like me are the problem. Those that think like the NRA when every time the government will try to do something about these weapons on the street of our nation crying out conspiracy are the problem. I do not associate myself with the NRA by buying their membership because they are the leading reason these crazies have such easy access to such weapons; because everything is propaganda wrapped up in a package with a bow on and a card saying, "conspiracy" when there is none. In other words the NRA is the conspirator. BWP... James...

Each time down here we hear of another mass killing in the US we tend to shake our heads amd ask ourselves 'what is going on over there?' But we had a nasty incident here when 35 innocent people died from a crazed gunman. The government destroyed thousands of unregistered guns in an amnesty, and to keep guns nowadays, there are strict regulations. Nothing has changed; there's weekly drive by shootings with illegal hand guns...it appears the criminal element owns most of the guns now, and stabbing deaths are out of control. Like you, I don't know why weapons used in warfare are available to the general public. Thanks Ronald Lindsay
