Circuit Riders

by MichaelFirewalker

into you beyond
our bruising barriers
my song still trills fire edged
as notes of flaming lace deftly interface
the white hot silver web around your spirit face
this was all I ever held after hate and hell’s disgrace

so kiss me fast right past
that wasted street of busted glass
shattered by holy orders storms that blast
betrayal into death's delayed decay in rotting blood
where steel studs rivet dervish floods circling time’s crash
open on the end of all that never dared to be or see first or last

we breathe below scouring desert rain
in acid lakes of sterile dust and human ash
piled on every idiotic blunderblast who came
onto a scimitar-sliced path edematous with blame
bled on convictions from a feudal past morphed sickly
lame into insanities maintained by our blind and broken past

Well this is certainly a vivid poem! Curious about your use of the word dervish? Do you mean as in whirling dervishes? Floods swirling like them? Or perhaps some other meaning? I am familiar with dervishes, as I have been associated with the Western arm of Sufism brought by Hazrat Inyat Khan for some years. And of a course they do more than whirl, lol. Namaste, Tasha

yes, the whirling dervishes, whose exquisite turning carries them, and us along with them, into the heart of the One...Namaste, dear Tasha....................michael

One feels a chill and a firm sense of conviction emanating... compelled to moan amen, as well. Ice on the mountains melt. Best wishes, Michael - Mary Ann
