Wildflowers

by Pujakins

Nodding by the road
Wildflowers wave at passing cars.
"Hello, hello--
"No time to chat?
"Goodbye, goodbye,
"Sorry to see you go"

Innocent of intent
They plant themselves
On yielding ground,
Displaying all their loveliness
To anyone who cares to see
Where it is found.

I like the idea of you putting the wildflowers in a human position. Good use of personification here. I wonder what it's like them living in a human mindset. It is a good metaphor of human vs nature type thing.

Thanks, Dear Sammi, I appreciate your comment and thank you for it. I guess to me most anything has some kind of person-ality if you get my meaning. Life abides in all that is.

Thanks again for your comment. I'm going to PM you on someting I thought of because of waht you said. Hugs and Blessings, Tasha

Yes, you're right that everything, EVERYTHING is personality. The phrase "wildflowers wave at passing cars" reminded me of personification--because in a way it's giving human characteristics to it, and I settled for this whole theme in the poem--the idea that even wildflowers have hearts and can see through us, how nature's stronger than us. And yes, you can pm me, I always pm people.

Exactly as we felt passing fireweed and Alaskan daisies on the way to the beach this afternoon... Lucky me to find your poem, it's like you were clairvoyant or riding merrily along with us. Peace and best wishes dear poet - Mary Ann

You honor me with your sweet words. I am grateful for your warm and tender view of my little poem. I had it in my head for the longest time before I could set it down on paper, finally seeing it emerge into a cogent poem. It is nice to hear good things about it. Thank you so much, Dear Lady With Love, Tasha

Tasha..often there is beauty in simple things, and we miss it because it is too obvious. This little poem is a reminder..so thank you.

it took me a long time to understand that beings like flowers and stones are actually conscious of us human beings, albeit in their own unique ways, and that they actually do want to be seen and known by us...that paradigm of existence simply did not jive with my scientific method approach to existence...at least not until I began to explore the nature of unity consciousness...it's a strong teaching poem, Tasha...thank you for writing it and sharing it with us............................michael

aaaahhh you would like my garden tasha. it's about as wild as it gets. it's like being a jungle explorer going out there ha ha.

nice. giving flowers personalities. all my wild roses have personalities. some are droopy and shy. some are flamboyant. the pink ones like to nod at passers by - flower power - paul and pup.

G'day Tasha...
For us poets who enjoy writing about nature, it is these more or less unnoticable scenes that lure us into a picture poem Tasha.
Thank you for this little gem

what a lovely and imaginative write. i like the idea of the flowers waving hello and goodbye to the passing cars. I'm sure I'll think of this poem next time I drive by flowers growing on the side of the road.
