Ondine

I am cursed
The tale foretells
I will walk in pain
I am destined forever to love
And never to be loved
Cursed
The water nymph, the siren
The mermaid’s tale
My tale
So dance the ballet if you must
While I cry silently at the water’s edge
And await my true love’s kiss
For only he can break the spell
Only he can set me free
The sea-witch has spoken
My tail the token
Will he, won’t he
It is foretold he will come
And I am waiting
