I’ve Been Alone and You Didn’t Notice

by DaMoment

I go alone, do it on my own - meditating and playing solitaire.
Yearning to be loved, held, caressed, having fingers run through my hair.
You didn't realize the pain, the heartache living alone has brought,
Celebrities live it everyday, their lives so distraught.

You wouldn't notice me for I blend in the crowd,
smiling, happy go lucky, prospering and making others proud.
Yeap, I've been alone, I get the feeling so have you;
The strength from within, would give others no clue.

It's not just me, it's your friends, your close ones, the ones you're speaking to now
Hiding it very well like others, you never imagined how.
Time goes on without you, without me,
Like many others, I've been alone, and, you didn't notice.

This was me when I was married 14 years ago. My spouse had me near but never once seem to care about how unhappy I was. Always working and wanting me to come to his job, just to sit around, play solitaire, eat, walk around the building and stare at the walls for hours. I said all this to say, "I know exactly what your saying". -Much Love and Thanks- Christa Smile
