My aunt Rose

Fell off her cradle
when she was young and still bouncy;
grew older as a cripple,
washing down pills with a glass of brandy;

Life was hard
couldn't secure a job to keep herself busy'
until she hobbled upon an interesting hobby.

Swimming calmly
in her pill and brandly medley
Until she was at misery's mercy

She took her pen and wrote a few words
then it made a lot of sense to her
Inspiring writes, they said
Encouraging her to keep up the pretence.

I went to visit her one spring,
and she taught me how to break free;
My aunt helped release the poet in me.

    Glad u think so, she slapped me across my face when she read it and said "who's knocking back pills??? I just drink brandy" lol

lovely lovely write! what a wonderful tribute to your aunt! there is value in everyone. we just have to look harder sometimes.
