just a kid

sitting there thats my son his whole world about to become undone before its begun how do i approach him after all these years how do i hold him wipe away his tears take away his fears i'm afraid of rejection what if i fail what if i give him my heart and he throws me in jail to sit in a cell how he feels i cannot tell i sit and ponder what to do i do not know the way i feel i dont know how to show whats real i'm going too slow i cant just wait i hesitate i dont think of his fate he's growing fast its almost to late i go to reach for him in one hand i hold my heart in the other is something way too tart i'll offer him booze and drugs much more cooler than love or hugs much easier to give away then with me he'll want to stay then my love he cant throw away but your not thinking of the consequences not thinking of the sin not realizing your ruining his life before it could begin he's just a kid he's just a kid dont you see him admiring you from a distance not able to show resistance your words wanting to believe not knowing theres anything up your sleeve well years have past that kids grown up fast the drug did last now he's fading fast what values did you teach him you took the easy way to reach him look at him now without you he would of done better somehow yeah this storys way too sad you werent supposed to be his pusher you were suppose to be his dad
