Time Management

Randy is an expert on time
licks the sharp edge of sunrise
just to taste the blood
bleeding is living

he keeps his clock as clean
as a surgeon around sharp objects
expects nothing to impede the progress of his days
a man who gives so much to the details
should be rewarded

Randy is a God of cogs and gears
understands the beauty in how
the passing of time
sounds the same as a beating heart

some imperfections in the mechanism
can’t be fixed
no matter how slow it goes,
it’s always too fast and too painful

Randy lives the end of his life every day
cautions the world on meaning and waste
would like us to learn his lessons,
painfully admits to himself
we’ll never truly understand
until our own machinery fails us
