Poems - Blinded by the blight
| | Blinded by the blightby Leggolas
Images of Lebensborn.
Concentration’s pyre.
A captured glint of innocence
neath darkened plumes of screaming fire.
Rusting radiation,
wreckless, ridding plunge,
a ticking, tainted canker
slickly seeps it’s slow expunge.
Rotating, tenacious teeth
nibble, gnaw creation’s girth,
depleting devastation swipes
to constrict lungs of ailing earth.
Swollen pangs of emptiness,
emaciation’s throe.
The drift toward conclusion,
it’s outstretched plead of woe.
Twitching, butchered ivory.
The hack of trophy’s flail.
Pools of pups pon crimson sheets.
The dripping severed whale.
Incessant are these searing scars of pain
disdain
and misery
please "END THIS BLIGHT" I beseech!
enact thy decree.
Pluck these eyes,
for they no longer wish to see.

Dear sabre. This poem as you see, regards the devastating impact man has had on his entire environment. And the continued suffering and destruction of the world with no apparent end in sight. I really appreciate this comment, for as you can see, you are the first to express an opinion to it's content. This is our World and our childrens future, and I had hoped this poem would evoke some powerful emotions. I Thank You. Take care. Fond Regards. Leggolas.

Very powerful words and I am right there with you on those feelings. It is unfortunate, because those who have the most power to do something are blinded like they have thrown in special contact lenses that constantly show them dollar signs.

Dear Newportstorm, I agree with your sentiment entirely. The world is spiralling out of control, with it's sole source of momentum, seemingly greed. Thanks for your thoughts. Take care. Fond Regards. Leggolas.

Absolutely brilliant, and I feel a great kinship with this poem. There are different ways of reading, and with this kind of poetry I feel safe and in good hands as a reader. That is not to say that the woe and pain is not well recieved, but rather that art allways will be an extention of reality in some way for it to succeed in any meaningful way. So in plain words "It is close to home".
Now you wrote me a welcoming note after I joined here. I only did join to remove someone copying my work from another site. But for this I will stay.
Ill start our by posting an old poem from 2004 named "Resignation", if you will indulge me, that is the best response I can give to this poem.
