Stolen Moments

Perhaps if only a few times a week
We make the time, for one another we seek
If only to chat or a bite to eat
When together, food never tasted so sweet

A phone call, a message, to only connect
These things I hold dear, vehemently protect
One smile from you, a laugh or a joke
Makes me beam inside, it’s my heart you provoke

Even if to just have you, with no strings
I’m thankful for the time and the joy it brings
Call me, I’m there without hesitation
Just need to know the time and destination

Stolen moments are all we have to share
Yet these are the times to which nothing compares
Stolen moments with you, some here and there
Are beautiful and priceless, and yet so unfair

Stolen moments are what I value now
Be with you, as our situations allow
And if stolen moments are all we’ll be
Defeat nor disappointment you’ll ever see

For these are the times, life truly begins
Regardless of my conscious, fault, guilt or sin
My need for you seems so natural and strong
And I’m blinded, if my loving you is wrong

A few minutes with you, life seems to start
I awaken inside, soul moves within my heart
I become the person I want to be
In these stolen moments between you and me
