Rock Candimonium

by greygrynn

Her 07 ‘Stang rumble-sniffs behind.
Eight aluminum forged pistons git-pop lighting fast
up and down in a custom racing block.

Mill’s overbalanced, beyond strong just prowling,
yet taking “pinks” a delicious cruel pleasure.
No “boys” allowed!

Through gun smoke grey windshield, her Aztec
cut jaw barely shows, cadaver dead line,
perfectly glossed lips unsmiling.

Gently rocks slow, staccato side-to-side, in-tune with
jagged, bored, idle. Exhaust cannon-blast
“Yeah – Right, you not car enough tonight”

Yellow-white sunlight glitter-flashes off
dark, slick, grape-soda Imron painted flanks.
She blip-feints to the left and disappears down
a languidly winding, licorice-black, suburban street.

i always get a kick out of reading your work. it is so recognizably "you" and it always makes me feel comfortable, like sitting with a good friend.

OK, this was a damn good poem and was as evocative of racing as Cake's song [http://www.lyrics007.com/Cake%20Lyrics/Going%20The%20Distance%20Lyrics.html"]Going The Distance[/]
