Secrets of Frog and Toad

Frog with a toadstool umbrella
Plucking spore wafers;
Vegetable button on a toothpick
twirling along the lime moss path
A magical truffle inhibiting
the blended logic of lily stairs
atop the mire, encroaching
Green peach fuzz tickles
as the tip toe precision of eggshells waver
Ripples rise as hops resume
A hop and a pause
one lily at a time
Sunset awaiting on the far bank
with the feast of fireflies
Masking internal lanterns until dusk;
they swarm as bloated mosquitoes
made delusional by the blood quench
filling their rears
One more lily to go
the mire released another-
So now the frog rejoining the toad clan;
elevated by stool of toad
Revealing the symphony:
RIIIIIIIIBBBBIIITTT......
And the toadstool umbrella is passed on
To protect those who will brave the mire
crossing the pond, back to the lime moss path

i've a frog pond in my back garden. so i'm a bit biased, but i thought this was great. i know it's metaphorical, but i still had to go and annoy my frogs by saying ribbet!! to them ha ha - love and peace - paul.
