In the middle of the night

by alana

In the middle of the night
something scrambles to my right
something soft , something light
something screeches out of sight .

Oh! This night so very still
even the old creaking windmill
twigs shadows woven to twill
courage practices being invisible !

This heart thuds in total unrest
a wild mare hooves at my chest
fearsome neighs of unwelcome guest
I refuse being the dark’s conquest .

Daylight seems so far away
dreams don’t come to play
though I want to falls asleep
fear seems to block the way .

.

the dawn will always rise little tigger, and all darkness will pass. i've been through the most impenetrable of blackness, but the light will be yours. keep dreaming - love and peace - paul.

omegapaffy , sweet puppy , i like the fact that you comment on my poems , but the score is too much ,
i don't want you ever giving me a score of 10 again , i refuse to write a poem if you ever do so . There are so many other poems which deserve a 9 or 10 , much more . Mine deserves a mere 7 in my opinion and you being a true friend , i hope you of all people will rate my poems so that I can trust your judgement . Now how do I know how my poem measures with the others if you give me a 10 because you feel you shoud stand by your friend ?

There are moments were the rhyme scheme breaks, I can take the slight rhyme of "invisible". I'm not sure what form this is, shall we call it the "tigger scheme" Smile
I enjoyed the playful nature of this poem, and I don't think it was because I know the way you post. It's an adorable piece, is there a reason you didn't post this in forums? I would have helped you much much much. Do that next time and send me a link to the thread so I can find it, I loose sight of a lot of poems because I don't search avidly. Know that I liked this poem it brought a smile to my face, and it doesn't take a "10" on a poem to do that for me, any poem can bring smiles to peoples faces. Smile T

A great journey into insomnia. If you've been there this all rings true. I had a few difficulties with some of the line transitions and the fact that in S4 L3 there is no rhyme, but really a great poem with descriptions that take you there.
