I\'m sorry

I thought
“I’m sorry” would be enough.
I think it’s safe to say I thought wrong.
I thought you’d say
“I forgive you” and that’d be it.
I think it’s safe to say I thought wrong.
Want to be angry at you
Because I can’t help remembering all the times you said,
“I’m sorry” and that was enough because I always said,
“I forgive you”
But this time the tables are turned
I fucked up
I was wrong
I made a mistake
And it hurts
I broke your trust
Maybe even lost your love
And deep inside I know-
“I’m sorry” will never be enough.

I have been there. Sometimes it works if you say it enough times. even broken trust can be rebuilt. sorry this one hit home for me.
