I used to talk to God, but he didn’t talk back,
So I “lost” his email (I threw it in the trash)
And we lost touch,
But tonight I need a crutch.
Alcohols out because I can’t take it,
Weeds out cause I’ve got nothing to hit,
Anything else I’ve never done,
So I give up and try to find the Son.
I hit him up and for once he’s prompt.
He’s very rude asking “What do you want?”
“Well, your holiness, I just want some meaning.”
Simply: “Isn’t it good enough being?”
“Not unless I can take my mind off the misery.”
“Well, my son, why not believe in me?”
“You’ve let me down too many times before.”
“The fault isn’t mine.” “Then who’s?” “Yours.”
