busted harps

Busted harps and toxic drags
Rusted sharps in plastic bags
Sour grapes and tarnished rings
Devoured saints with ravaged wings

Gutter grate and sidewalk chalk
Sputter gait and sidestep walk
Old young girls and sidewalk sales
Swine to pearls in pockmark veils

In style bound to drown in much
Wired for sound and out of touch
Slipping away the cherished dream
To perish in the stage light beam
